SUPERBIKE SCHOOL  HAMPTON DOWNS RIDE DAYS

On Track Coaches

We approach rider improvement in two ways:

1. The technical briefings for understanding
2. On-track coaching for application, feedback and practical demonstration.

The two go hand in hand. Without understanding, the on-track drills would simply be robotic exercises and little progress would be made. In the end, even though it does help, do-what-I-do does not put the rider fully in command. We'll say it precisely - understanding and mastering Keith's Level 1 skills solves 90% of any rider's technique problems. You get a full briefing, focusing on one precise technical skill, before each track session. There are five briefings and five track sessions, in levels I-III, each school day.

Keith has discovered the raw basics. These are the MUST-BE-ABLE-TO-DO techniques. We invite you to take a look around, no one else has dedicated themselves to the task of educating riders on cornering. If anyone else does know, they aren't saying and they aren't publishing it around the world as he has done continually for over twenty years.

On-track, our intention is to jump in when needed and then wean you from the instructors. Certainly, your assigned on-track coach will offer plenty of assistance by giving you immediate feedback or pulling you in for a consultation but he'll only smile once he sees you mastering the drills on your own. That's what worked for him, he knows it will work for you.

Professional Coaching
Keith's on-track riding staff are the only trained, professional riding coaches in the world. Coaches, not teachers. They will demand improvement and insist on understanding. Giving friendly advice is not part of their training...Insuring your discovery and understanding of the cornering art IS part of their training.

Certification as a riding coach at the Superbike School takes serious dedication, not just good riding, a nice smile or being one of our friends. Our coaches have five tough training courses to go through themselves for full certification. They're proud of their accomplishments - and they're always proud of their students' progress. You'll be assigned to one of them.

Who Can Improve?
If you ride a motorcycle, you can. Sport rider, touring rider, cruiser rider, professional racer, no matter what your intention, the cornering basics apply to you. 100,000 plus riders have attended Superbike Schools worldwide. Not to mention that over the past 20 years 15 US. Superbike Championships have been won by riders personally trained by Keith. Bikes may change but his discoveries on cornering still apply.

Depth of Training
Whichever of our 4 levels you are attending, everyone is geared to help. Even our Corner Marshals and Course Control personnel know which drill you are working on. We often rely on their feedback to help sort out your riding. In fact, our Course Control personnel keep a running, written record of each student's on-track performance. The whole staff is focused on your improvement--everyone is on the same page.

Next up is a description of the Superbike School levels...
